Don't Fake Orgasms

Have you heard of the acronym BMR' This stands for Basal Metabolic Rate. This is the number of calories that your body needs to survive at rest. This is then determined by the amount of muscle you have. However BMR will be reported as being determined by the following...

Genetics: You are born with a certain number of muscle cells, you can’t change how many you have but you can change the size of them.

Age: As you get older you will lose muscle tissue so your BMR will also reduce.

Sex: No, not how much sex you are getting but whether you are a male or female. Men have a higher BMR than women as they have more muscle tissue. This all adds up to - the more muscle you have, the faster your metabolic rate will be!!!

When you are sleeping your metabolism is at its slowest.

If you eat something your metabolism speeds up.

If you eat something spicy or you have a cup of coffee it will go up again.

When you are cold your body needs energy to warm you up so again your metabolism speeds up.

When you get stressed, angry or frustrated your heart rate speeds up, so will your metabolism.

Exercise or lift weights and your metabolism speeds up significantly.

Have sex and you will really require your body to produce more energy so up goes the metabolism again.... BUT NOT IF YOU FAKE IT!!!!!

In the Journal of Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise (1993), they say that sex is an avenue for burning calories and increasing your metabolism. These researches found that vigorous sexual activity, that concludes in orgasm will actually burn 50% more calories than if you were sitting in your lounge reading a book. Before you all rush off to the bedroom here is some food for thought...

In comparison to a 30 minute walk, your love making session would have to be...

2 hours and 45 minutes in length, give or take a few minutes.

It would have to be vigorous in nature.

You would also need to be standing up so that you were in a weight bearing position.

And NO FAKING!!!

There are lots of things that will help to increase the speed of your metabolism. Exercise, strength training, eating, being cold, spicy food and yes a romp in the bedroom is also a fun way to help. However replacing the lean muscle you have lost since you have turned twenty and even trying to increase that amount, is by far the most effective way to increase both your BMR and your metabolism.
