Don’t Think About It, Do It!
People always like to set goals but sometimes these goals don’t get completed because something gets in their way. Their mind!!!
Here is a perfect example of this, of someone letting their mind get in the way.
I was talking to someone who was thinking about registering for her first ever Half Marathon. After discussing the when's and where's she admitted that she was scared and that fear was keeping her from registering. That's when she started using

these dangerous words...
What about.
"What about this..."
"What about that..."
"What about this other thing..."
I listened for a few moments and then stopped her. Because every "what about" she was coming up with was simply an excuse. Her mind was getting in the way. She was over thinking and trying to figure out all the "hows" ahead of time. Being so focused on everything that "could" happen, everything that "might" go wrong that it took her further away from the one simple thing that she had to do now.
REGISTER.
I told her that she didn't need all the "hows" to take the first step. That she didn't need the answers to all the "what about's" before she got started. She already had the goal in mind - run her first half marathon. All she had to do to get started was to make the first move, not have every detail planned out.

Make the promise to yourself and figure out what and who you need to be successful - the "how's" will come. You don't need to know how everything is going to work and happen to start.
Because if you're like me, you've been trapped in that "what about..." circle at some point in the past. And it did you no good. Like opening up my own Studio. I could have gone and worked in somebody else’s but I thought “bugger it” lets have a crack! Thinking too much about it doesn’t bring you any closer to your goals. Take the plunge and sort out the how's and why's afterwards.
If you wait for all of the "hows" to be in place you'll probably never get started. Let's face it, you can't plan for everything and as soon as your plan starts being implemented, it will all change anyway.
